These orb-style light-up dice contain tiny wireless LEDs that glow when rolled on their powered tray, with warm reds and oranges shining from within. How do they work?
These dice contain tiny wireless LEDs that light up when they roll across the powered dice tray. Because the LEDs receive power wirelessly, every roll is a little different. Some rolls produce a bright glow, while others produce only a quick flicker—but every roll is a surprise. The magic (and the power) comes from the dice tray. It must be plugged into a wall outlet, power bank, or other electric source in order for the dice to light.
How long will they last?
There are no batteries in these light-up dice, and they don’t need to be charged. As long as the tray has power, they’re ready to play.
The LEDs are expected to last around 8,000 hours (that’s a lot of game nights!). They’re sealed inside the dice and can’t be replaced, but for most players they’ll provide years of use.
Keep in mind that the glow is part of the experience, but not the whole point. These dice are designed to feel good in your hand and look beautiful on your table—even when they’re not lit.
Are they balanced?
These dice are fully playable and are as fair as any other handmade dice. They use what I call a kinetic core, which means the dice are hollow and the LEDs are free-floating. Because the LEDs aren’t fixed in one location, no single side permanently carries the extra weight. And it makes them really fun to shake, rattle, and roll!
The specifics…
This set includes a complete 8-piece light-up polyhedral set (2d20, d12, d%, d10, d8, d6, and d4) plus a powered dice tray.
The d20 is approximately 24 mm tall, making these comfortably oversized without feeling bulky. The tray measures roughly 7 × 8 inches—large enough that you can roll a fistful of dice on it while still fitting easily on most game tables.
These are handmade resin dice, and like all handmade things, small variations and surface imperfections may occur. They are cast, sanded, and polished by hand—not mass-produced. The tray receives the same care as the dice, and is lined with upcycled leather, which keeps the focus on the shifting light.
